The universe, like the human population, cannot be defined in static terms
such as "The universe IS." There is a finite coming into being and finite
terminous of being which is ongoing in both the micro- and macrocosm that
cannot be excluded from a working definition of the universe in order to
arrive at a static definition of what the universe IS.

To say that "The universe is all that exists," likewise is premature. We
are more than the stardust of which we are made. We must worship life "in
spirit and truth." The material universe gives us a sense of certainty
and "truth" but it does not animate the corpse.
