Looking at it from a comp sci perspective, you might be saying that the
"operating system" supports consciousness directly. That appears to be
true for mammals. What that means, I don't know, but based on Walter
Freeman's presentation on Saturday, it appears that the "native
instruction set" for the neocortex supports consciousness directly.
