NR> Nonsense.

NR> 12 people agreed that it had not been demonstrated beyond a reasonable

Now I think I am missing s subtlety here.
fact1: The police beat Mr. King
fact2: The police didnt violate a statute
conclusion: It was ok for the police to beat Mr. King

NR> It also has nothing to do with this newsgroup.

That didnt stop you from responding though did it?
The topic was about killing, and the ethics of turning off
an AI program. Getting beat with clubs is very apropos.
Maybe the cops beat Rodney King because they didnt think
he was human enough. People in the ghetto see this all the
time, hence their anger. Even when the police are caught
on video tape they can get away with beating a black man.

NR> May I suggest that you wait until AI has been achieved until you discuss
NR> the ethics of pulling the plug. It all seems quite premature to me.

Actually most discussion about real AI is premature. so...

Sincerely,
Wayne Peterson
