A few days ago there was a query on this newsgroup asking references
to decidability of propositional intuitionistic logic. The following
might be of help.

1) R. Statman, Intuitionistic propositional logic is P-space complete,
   TCS, vol 9, pp 67-72, 1979.

2) J. Hudelmaier, Bounds for cut-elimination in intuitionistic
propositional logic, Dissertation, Mathematics Faculty, University
   of Tubingen, 1989.

3) J. Hudelmaier, A decision procedure for intuitionistic
propositional logic, draft, Centrum fur Information und
Sprachverarbeitung, Unversity of Munich, Jan 1991. Note: gives
   O(n log n) space bound.

4) R. Dyckhoff, Contraction free sequent calculi for intuitionistic
logic, Research report CS/91/5, Dept. of Computing, Univ of St.
Andrews. Note: To appear in JSL.

The last work also contains some historical remarks and pointers to
the work done in then USSR on this problem few deacades ago.
