Request for information...

I have decided, as my 4th year research project, to take up the contruction of a natural language interface to database. The user will type in a question and then the program will produce some output. From my initial reading I believe this involves parsing the sentence, analysing its syntactic and sematic content, and then producing a formal query (which I intend to do using SQL). A few people have commented on the potential difficulty of such a project. I am aware of the limited success of various na

ural language query and dialogue programs. However, I intend to keep my NLP simple yet functional.

The problem I am having is finding adequate practical examples of how the parsing is done. I would greatly appreciate some sources of information or hints on where information might be found

I would greatly appreciate any help someone might give and if personal material is sent to me, I will give credit where it is due.

Thanks, ED
