i have the FAQ and it lists a number of general books on NLP, so i'm
looking for opinions on the best book for an intro.

i have a computer/math background with a basic introduction to AI. i'm
looking for something that will give me broad coverage without skimming
each bit too superficially, something that is challenging (doesn't take me
for an idiot), most of all something that is readable (or at least not as
bad as the rest).

any recs?
