I would suggest a book entitled "The Emperors New Mind" by Roger Penrose. In
it, he discusses the Turing test, and possibly ( I think definitely ) shows
why the human mind is NOT a digital computer. This is one of the most
interesting books I have ever read, which raised more questions than it
answered. Incidentally, if the human mind is NOT a digital computer, this
does not mean a digital computer cannot become self aware. And as far
as my 2 cents about the Turing test, I do not believe a complete Turing test
can be devised until we understand just what it is about the brain that
allows us to be self aware.
