The comp.ai.neural-nets FAQ recommends that book's discussion of AVQ,
but there are better books on neurofuzzy systems, such as:

   Brown, M., and Harris, C. (1994), Neurofuzzy Adaptive 
   Modelling and Control, NY: Prentice Hall.
