If people were not convinced by the article "Thought question and what is life" which stated that IT IS THE QUEST OF THE HOLY GRAAL TO DEFINE LIFE, then you should read "I Robot".

P.S. : I don't want to put that subject in my kill list since I think (on a meta aspect) the way people treat the question is very funny : one proposes a definition, everyone else says "no, it's wrong" and propose another one.
