Hello; as you may recall, a few weeks ago we posted a request for comment
on our new object-oriented language and IDE. We have now finally posted a
beta evaluation copy at:

	http://www.well.com/user/mitsu/develop

The beta can be used to develop applications and expires on January 30,
1997. (You can continue to view and edit your source code after that, but
the C code generator will be disabled so any changes you make that require
recompilation will not be allowed---the interpreter will still function,
however).

As explained in previous posts, the Developer has been our in-house
development language for a number of years now, and we have always intended
to make it available to the public but have only recently decided to finally
get around to doing it. Note that although the software is reasonably robust
and stable, since we have not had a chance to release it until now, there
will certainly be new information gained by having other users. We apologize
in advance for any omissions or lack of clarity in the documentation; after
all, since we wrote the system, we might have left out certain details of
how to do certain things which are obvious to us but would be mysterious to
someone unfamiliar with the system.

Please email questions to us, or post your questions to the comp.object
newsgroup. We will endeavor to answer any and all questions, and commonly-
asked questions and their answers will be posted to a FAQ on the website.
Thanks.
