You can find a lot of useful information about Objective-C in the
GNU distribution of it. They maintain a copy of the standard for
their version, which is pretty much the standard used in
Productivity Products International's compiler circa 1984. The GNU
compiler for Objective-C is a small addon to their C compiler.
Very nicely done, in my opinion.

In an object oriented programming class in graduate school, we
used a book by Brad Cox called "Object Oriented Programming - An
Evolutionary Approach" (Addison-Wesley, 1987). In this book, he
discusses Objective-C entirely in the terminology of Smalltalk-80.
Probably a bit on the introductory-level for someone who has
worked with OO for a while, but an interesting approach
nonetheless.

Personally, I play around with Smalltalk, but I do most of my
OO programming in Objective-C. My employers have shown little
interest in either. :)
