This problem is well known. You might need to set the X11-Resource 
"st80.ColorCube". We moved to VisualWorks 2.5 where this problem has lost 
its tension. Too bad that I have discarded my settings of st80.ColorCube. 
Since this feature is undocumented, I would recommend to contact 
PPD-Support and ask for the documentation of "st80.colorCube"
