I hear the opinion that Smalltalk is fine for 'small' systems but that it
doesn't scale up 'well'. I'm sure this isn't true and that there are
examples of people using Smalltalk in complex, high volume applications
in commercial environments. Can anyone point me at some examples?

As a measure, what systems do you know written in Smalltalk that address
say 10k function points, process say 100k business transactions an hour,
and that are distributed over 100 or more locations?

I know that these are to some extent dopey measures in this context, so
you could consider the case where a Smalltalk system has successfully
done the job of a traditional system that would be measured in this way.
