I am a developer using Visual Works and ENVY Developer.

When attempting to add a subclass,
after entering the name of the subclass (call it Test)
I am prompted with a dialog box question:

"What type of subclass should Test be?

     subclass
  or variableSubclass "

What is the difference between the two?
In particular what is a variableSubclass and when would you use it?

I believe variableSubclass is an ENVY/OTI creation.
