I've started using Scheme/Tk for the project about which I'm writing
my master's thesis, but somebody suggested I look into Smalltalk
instead. I'm familiar with Smalltalk and have written programs with
Digitalk Smalltalk/V with a UI toolkit called Object Vision (?). But,
Digitalk only supports DOS, Windows, and OS/2 (and Mac -- at least for
a while). I've sworn off all those systems on the advice of my
dentist. I need something that runs under X11 on Solaris 2.3 (SVR4)
and preferably also Linux.

It doesn't sound like Gnu smalltalk has much in the way of a UI
toolkit, so I'm trying to find out what else is available. I've
looked in the FAQ, and haven't found anything like a list of available
Smalltalk implementations for various systems. Is there such a thing?
I'm looking for info such as

 - Vendor
 - Supported OSes and architectures
 - Available UI toolkits or other add on packages
 - Pricing and royalty policy

Thanks!
