Hmm, I forget whether empirical means hard numbers or gut feel, but I
use a Quadra 840av with 32Mb RAM, and MCL is noticeably faster than my
bosses high-end PowerPC Mac. I don't know the model number of his
computer though. He is still using the 68k version though, so you may
want to hang in there for the PPC release itself. Both are running MCL
3.0p2.
