Try Procomm Plus for Windows, it works much better than CrossTalk
for Windows. I had a similar problem with COM2 of my computer when
I was using CrossTalk and Procomm Plus for Windows FIXED it.

Also check the Settings on CROSSTALK, You may be checking for
hardware handshaking/signals inspite of using a 3 pin RS-232
cable.
