Yes the bit manipulation in the 8051 Instruction set was very nice and
that is one of the features that sold me. The other was the fact that the
instruction cycles were easy to count because I do a lot of close loops in
my video applications.

Can't sell me on Forth, sorry. Once you learn C there's no going back.
