I'd like recommendations as to a self-study course in the spoken (not written)
Mandarin Chinese language. I'm especially interested in courses which provide
copious accompanying sound recordings, preferably on CD, but on tapes if
that's how it is. I'm looking for something with lots of drill both in
listening and pronunciation, as I already have plenty of good materials
covering the grammar.

I've used the US Foreign Service Institute course and tapes for Turkish, and
found their product very helpful, but I'm reluctant to shell out a lot of
money completely blindly.
