Has anyone ever tried to develop a logographic writing system for
Indo-European, and studied its usability for modern IE languages, and
whether it is more or less capable of transcending so-called dialectal
differences than is Chinese writing for (modern spoken) Chinese?

Can someone encapsulate for me the main differences between Ojibwa and
Cree; do these languages constitute a dialect continuum, or is there a
clearly definable boundary?

Are there any places in the world (on the Net or corporeally) where you
can learn and practice conversational Sumerian?

Are there any Chinook Jargon speakers (fluent, that is) still around?

How different are Yupik and Inupiaq and Aleut?

Thanks!

Leland
