If you want something on the history of Frisian (I know its a bit off your
topic here, but you never know) and its relationship with English and other
Gmc. tongues, check out Hans F. Nielson.  He has two books on Gmc. langs, but
the one I think you want is _Old English and the Continental Germanic Languages
It tells of some historical parallels between Fris. and Old English.
