It is not possible for many colors to refer to them as a 
wavelength. Furthermore if you can refer to a color as a 
wavelength, this wavelength will be a more precise description 
than any colorname.

There is maybe a simple technique to produce a table as you 
requested:
- Producers of paint use reference charts. Pantone Colors is 
such a set and it is so famous that some drawing/paint software 
include these colornames in their programme.
- If you get such a set of reference charts, you can use your 
spectrometer to measure the best fitting wavelength(s).
- For get these charts, you can try e.g. paint or fotographers 
shop. Probably somebody in this newsgroup or a COLORING newsgroup 
can advise on the availability of these charts.
