It is exactly what it is called - a frame grabber.
The whole idea behind it is that the host is intended to do the
processing. There are other grabber cards available with fast DSPs
on board if that is the route that you want to take - if you are 
locked into ITI then a PCI card that has a Computational Module slot 
is in the pipeline for release sometime this year - contact ITI for 
details of CMs but I am aware of a DSP. (the CM-PA).

If you can live with vesa bus then the MVC 150/40 card set is
available ( you are probably aware of this. still it may be of use 
to someone ) for several times the price.
