Greetings,

I am searching for routines which will locate the centre of spots in an 2D
image.

The spots are in a regular array (it's an electron diffraction pattern)
on the image.
Each spot usually has a gaussian type profile through it's centre, however
for some of the spots the top of the profile maybe truncated,
i.e. the image of the spot is saturated.

Secondly, I need to perform a similar task, but instead of spots
I need to search for discs.

Does anyone know of, or can suggest a method which will perform the task.

Thanks,
