Hello all on this newsgroup.

I am currently in my final year as a computer science undergraduate. My
given project for this year involves 3d reconstruction of fractured
bone x-rays which will then be used to determine the optimal method of
how the bones might be fixed (the bone involved is the femure). The
project involves analysing two x-ray shots of a broken femure and
pelvis connection. The images to be analysed are stored in BMP format
and Ada for windows is used fot the programming.

Has anybody out there been involved in such a project? I am finding it
very difficult obtaining material on how to reconstruct a 3d
representation from two x-rays. I have read books on the topic of
tomography but I don't think that is adequate.

Any response would be appreciated. Especially in the way to either book
or journal publicaions. Thank you all.

PS Does anybody know the format of a BMP file? I have posted this
question here a few weeks ago and some kind soul replied by offering me
two ftp sites which were supposed to hold this information. Alas, One
site could not be reached and the other held information of all kinds
of file formats except the BMP one. Any help in this would also be
greatly appreciated. All help will be acknowledge in the dissertation.

Thank you very much
