I worked for Xerox Office Systems Division in El Segundo, CA
from 1979 to 1984, writing software for the Xerox Star workstation.

Over the years, I've steadily lost track of my former co-workers.
And I no longer know what has happened to the product that
I worked so hard on.

If you worked on Star during the time I was at Xerox, I'd love
to hear from you.

If you have any information on current Xerox products that
are based on Star, I'd like to hear about that as well.

I recall that the name was changed to "ViewPoint" some time
in the 1980s, but that's about all I know.

Does Xerox still sell proprietary hardware (Dandelion)
to run this software? Is it still written in Mesa?
Does it still have its own proprietary operating system (Pilot)
and window system (Tajo)?

Any and all information will be much appreciated. Please post
your responses here (rather than just sending me e-mail), so
we can start a conversation in this newsgroup.
