Motorola Corporate Manufacturing Research Center
Assembly Technology Research Group

- Senior Process Development Engineer

In our Assembly Technology Research Group, you will develop innovative
methods for low-cost electronic component assembly and integrated circuit
packaging, seeing projects through from initial feasibility evaluations
to refinement and commercialization.  Focus will be on technologies required
for the high volume manufacture of next generation portable communications
products, including component attachment and interconnection, encapsulation,
and advanced substrate systems.  Emphasis will be placed on materials
evaluations, process experimentation and optimization, as well as simulation
and testing of assembly and reliability performance.  The candidate will
have responsibility for performing all project functions, including customer
contact and project management, in addition to producing key technical
results.

Graduate degree or equivalent in Chemical or Materials Engineering,
or related discipline (Ph.D. preferred), and some experience with advanced
integrated circuit packaging and circuit board assembly processes is
required.  This self-motivated individual should possess a teamwork
attitude, and good organizational and communication skills.  The candidate 
should have a strong aptitude for new technical areas and be willing to be
challenged by new projects.
