I was trying to see how well I could analyze the
Sheffield signal clean16.wav ("Fred can go, Susan
can't go, and Linda is uncertain"). I looked at
the portion corresponding to the sample numbers
29501--38500 (16 kHz signal, 562.5 ms duration; it
corresponds to the portion "and Linda", I think). I
have plotted the envelopes and frequency tracks of the
first 16 partials.

If you have analyzed this sentence before and are
interested at looking at my results for comparison,
you can get the plots by anonymous ftp. They were
generated using MATLAB.

The files are:

-rw-r--r-- 1 ftp 287125 Dec 27 20:06 clean_4_env1to8.ps
-rw-r--r-- 1 ftp 331236 Dec 27 20:06 clean_4_env9to16.ps
-rw-r--r-- 1 ftp 285227 Dec 27 20:06 clean_4_f1to4.ps
-rw-r--r-- 1 ftp 294105 Dec 27 20:06 clean_4_f5to8.ps
-rw-r--r-- 1 ftp 292103 Dec 27 20:06 clean_4_f9to12.ps
-rw-r--r-- 1 ftp 298308 Dec 27 20:06 clean_4_f13to16.ps

Along with the frequency track of each partial, k x pitch
is also plotted, where k is the number of the partial.

To get the files:

   ftp orca.ele.uri.edu [IP address: 131.128.51.25]
   login as ftp
   give e-mail address as passwd
   cd outgoing
   binary
prompt (to turn off interactive mode)
   mget clean_4_*.ps
   quit

If you retrieve the files, I'd appreciate if you can send
me e-mail and let me know; please also feel free to send me
e-mail if you have any difficulty in getting the files.

I'd be eager to hear how these compare with any results
you may have obtained using your methods. Thanks!

ramli.
