I'm collecting speech data over the telephone for VPC's next
automatic speech recognition product. I'm offering a simple deal:
If you call into the system (whole thing takes 2 1/2 minutes) and repeat
a list of prompts, you will be eligible to win a SoundBlaster 16 MCD with
the Voice Assist speech recognizer add-on software. If you don't want that
you can get a cellular phone.
The other thing I'm asking is that you forward this message to friends
so we can get the 750 total calls that we require for training the recognizer.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

1. Call 617/494-0100 between 9-5 EST. (collect calls accepted)
2. Ask for Ext. 301, but make sure you give the receptionist your
name and number for the drawing. (if the voice mail answers,
hang up and try again between 9-5 Eastern time).
3. The system will prompt you to say a list of about 60 words. Leave
a short space after the prompt. The whole thing should take 2 1/2
    minutes.
4. You will be asked one question: what state did you grow up in?
5. If you get cut off before the end (we've had a bit of flakiness
with the telephony card) try again.

To increase your chances of winning, get the whole family to call
in. Most of all, please forward this message to five friends. We
are shooting for 750 callers, so your chances of winning are
approximately 1:750.

Good luck and thanks for helping us out.

-Steve
