You should have bought a Mac AV machine, they come with preinstalled software 
that supports text to speech, TeachText.  While it isn't the best wordprocessing
program, you can cut and past in to it and have the computer read it back to 
you, and the english that it uses is better than a lot of people can speak or
type.
