You should take a look at the Auditory Image Model (AIM) produced by Roy
Patterson and team.  This is a very extensive piece of software which
does basic auditory modelling and a whole lot more.  It is available by
ftp from ftp.mrc-apu.cam.ac.uk in directory pub/aim.
