I'm pretty new to this speech arena and have been using a program called speak!
which I've pulled off the net from wilma.cs.brown.edu. What I'm trying to do
is translate text to speech on a Sun platform. The speak program does exactly
what I'd like to do except the output quality is not as high as I'd like it to
be.

The FAQ sheet posted in comp.speech mentions the use of diphones to solve this
exact dilema. I know that there are many phoneme databases out there for
public use ... is there a diphone database somewhere?
