Can someone please give me some good speech synthesis references where the
voice is produced by playing segments of speech joined together. I imagine
a complete set of phonemes needs to be defined so that they can be pieced
together to form continous speech, or is this still an open problem ?

I'd like to setup a system than can talk in a persons voice by digitizing
the correct components of their speech and the playing them back.

Thanks,

Robert.
