Hello,

I am implementing on INMARSAT M Voice Codec (IMBE). I have a problem about
the quantization. After quantizing, the quality of male's voices degrades
much more than that of female's voices. Actually, the quantized female's
voice is just slightly different from the unquantized one. But for
male's voice, the difference is very obvious. And it sounds too soft
compared the unquantized one.

One reason may be that the number of male's harmonics is more than
that of female's. But I feel the quantized male's voice cannot be so bad.
Anybody has the experience about this problem ? Any comments are wellcomed.
