Sorry if this is a lame-o question, but can someone give me pointers to
where I can find general information on voice recognition?

I know it's possible and that it's been done for over a decade now...
How can I implement it? What packages are avail at what cost and from
whom? Any chance of writing code to do it myself, given a limited
number of words from which it would choose "best fit"?

I'm dreaming of a menu-driven system... probably no more than 5, maybe
10 MAX different words at one time that would need to be differentiated.

Help?

Oh... btw... I have several platforms available with which to play...
486-33 with a SoundBlaster 16 ASP
SPARCstation 10
Various Macs (though I would prefer not to use one of these)
That 486 can be running DOS, Windoze, or BSD UNIX, whatever's best for
the job is fine.

Thank you VERY much for your help!
