Hi!

I am in the information-gathering stage of the development of a Radio
Controlled Flight Simulator and sadly enough no NOTHING about electronics, so
please bare with me and my stupid(?) question.

There are these commercial programs that have a RC-transmitter connected to
the PC either through the game-port or parallel-port. With some of the
commercial simulators you can use your normal rc-transmitter by using some
kind of little device which translates output of the receiver. This seems to
be the ideal solution because the rc-pilot always uses the same transmitter.

Another solution I know of is to make one big joystick out of an old
rc-transmitter by replacing the parts that "read" your movement by the same
devices as in a joystick. This means that the electronics become that of a
joystick, but the box looks like a rc-transmitter.

I would very much like to know what you pro's think of both solutions. Which
one is easier, cheaper, more reliable etc. Also I would appreciate any info
on how to go about implementing either solution.

With kind regards,

	Patrick Frants
