I bought the "Robot Builders Bonanza" about a week ago, and for the $18
it's ok. Ok at least if you need a book that is very basic in scope. And
keep in mind that it was published in 1987 and by TAB...

The first error I found was on page 108, fig. 13-20. A two channel shaft
encoder circuit. The error is in a 7474 flip flop that they show the "clock"
comming out of the Q line and the "direction" comming out the Q bar line.
I can see this giving direction information but not speed as it is shown.

The Book does show a second circuit for getting speed and direction from
an optical encoder that does work, just note that not all the pins are
labeled on the 7473, on the top half the bottom pin should be pin 2
and on the bottom half the top pin should be pin 6.
