Newsgroup name components should be 14 characters or less. Comp.sys.embedded
would be my choice. "Microprocessor" is not especially relevant, since chips
like the Pentium and Alpha are, strictly speaking, microprocessors, while
a 68HC05C8 is not, (it's a microcontroller). I don't want a flame war over
semantics, but comp.sys.embedded seems to me to go right to the heart of
the matter. Comp.arch already exists for processor architecture in general.

There was a proposal a couple of years ago for comp.sys.embedded, but it never
got off the ground.

Someone care to kick off a more formal proposal?
