First off, I couldn't believe that people sent Email asking me
for a complete citation for this book.

Anyone that doesn't have enough motivation to call up a bookstore
or library and get the name of the book has NO chance of actually
reading it.

So, I must assume that those people who asked are hearing impaired,
and I'll do whatever I need to help them get the book.

Shadows of the Mind
A Search for the Missing Science of Conciousness
Roger Penrose
Oxford University Press 1994
ISBN 0 19 853978 9

Now on to the book reading group.

I didn't mean to post to the entire world about this, but hey
you get what you type right?

Some people suggested an IRC "chat" session or Email lists for the
discussion group and I just don't think that would work for me.

The idea of discussion artificial conciousness with a bunch of
disembodied IRC nodes just sounded too strange for me.

So, I have a few people here in Minnesota that are going to get
together once a week and discuss a chapter of the book.

Send me Email if you are a local and would like to be involved.

If someone would like to take this opportunity to start an IRC
group to discuss the book, fee free. Otherwise I hear comp.ai.philosophy
has a discussion going on right now.
