I have used Data Translation and Cortex vidio capture boards. The DT is
about $2000 and the Cortex is abut $500. If you need color the DT is
very good. For Mono the cortex works great. With the Cortex you get
source code and you don't with data translation. With DT you can get
lots of good software and coprocessor boards. With the cortex you
don't get a lot but having source code is worth a lot to me.

Unless I needed somthing like color, a coprocessor board or the utilites
I would go with the cheap board.
