J> This may sound stupid but I want to know some info on
J>microcontrollers before I buy one:
J> What stuff do I need to hook a microcontroller(68hc11 or
J>8051) to my PC?
J> I have heard something about boards i.e. F1-board is this
J>an esseintal?

Check FAQs first, you may get all the answers you ever wanted and more. To
answer your question, there are FAQs for both the 68hc11 and 8051 family of
boards and also one on microcontrollers in general.

J> I have heard of these things called EEPROM or somthing like
J>that what is that?

Simply, these chips can be programmed multiple times instead of one time
only. They are erased and rewritten electrically.

J> Thank you in advance
J> James McMillan
