The idea is that a more focused forum would encourage discussion.  I
certainly do not find a lot of useful information in c.r, but I
believe that if the level of discussion were to raise, more
researchers would contribute (and increase interest further).  Other
researchers have recently made the same point in this group.

Note that I don't mean that hobbyists are not doing interesting work,
but rather that we do not have the same problems.
