Try either Arm Technology Ltd, VLSI, or GEC-Plessey. If you need it, I can
dig up phone numbers, addresses, email, etc for them. 

The ARM chips are a good choice for control, being cheap, easy to use, and 
VERY low power. I use them myself quite a bit, and I am rather fond of the
things.
