: I agree with a reorganization of the c.r. I agree that we need to think some
: more about the form of the new hierarchy.

: I really would like to see some more discussion on the theory and on what's
: happening in the schools and labs. I am working on an MS in Computer Eng with
: a focus on robotics.

: I would also like to continue to have the kinds of discussion we currently have
: in c.r.

: So how about two groups: c.r.research and c.r.practice

As a grad student working on designing a robot, I would like to be able
to read less about hobbyst activities. Not that I don't think they have
a viable outlet with comp.robotics.??? but my budget allows me to consider
much more expensive equipment. I like the theory and practice idea but
I sitll think there would still be a considerable difference in budgets.
I know this may be premature, but we might want to consider braking those
up into ???.commerical and ???.individual or ???.hobbyst. Just an idea
