Hi

I'm considering using the timer inputs on a 6811 (port A) for shaft
encoder inputs. I have a slotted IR "switch" with built-in TTL outputs
(so I don't have to use the A->D ports).

Before I re-invent the wheel, has anyone attempted this ? I'm going to
try to use the time codes generated by the IR switch to calculate the
the frequency (and therefore the speed) of each axle....

Can any of the systems-control experts out there see any glaring errors
with my thinking ?

Thanks
Scott

P.S. Please don't clutter the net with "me too" follow-ups, I'm only just
starting out on this project, as soon as I have anything substantive,
I'll upload it to cherupakha.
