While I travel around the country , I came accross some neat little
motors that would work well in most small robotic projects. The salient
features are: Motor dia is .680 diameter by 1 3/8" long attached directly
to a gearhead 5/8" wide and 1.4 inch dia. The output shaft is .118 dia by
1/2 long. It comes with a capstan that is secured using two set screws.
This can be machines to fit whatever you want attached. The capstan comes
off easily. The motor is a 12 volt DC reversible motor. It draws about 75
ma at 12 volts with no load and runs about 350ma when fully loaded. The
RPM is about 160. As a trememdous BONUS there is some king of a
encoder/tack on it. I am not an EE but my frequency meter slows that the
motor is pulseing at about 16KHZ which inmdicates 100 pulses per rev.
On my next trip in 9 days I intend to buy some for the members of the
Seattle robotic ZSociety. The costs is about $10 plus shipping. If there
is enough interest I may try to buy the entire stock of 30-40 motors.
