Subject: NEED HELP WITH PROGRAMMING A ROBOTIC ARM USING 80196 MICROCONTROLLER

To all comp.robotics netters:

I am trying to build a robotic arm control system for my class project.
I intend to prototype its behavior in assembly language. As I am new to this
field, I do not have much ideas on building this controller system. I hope
someone out there can help to answer some of the questions that I have listed
below:

1. I have a robotic arm which is driven by several stepper motors. The movement
of the arm can be in any of the x,y,z direction. I need a cheap controller
board which can incorporated the Intel 80196 microcontroller chip on it. Can
anyone tell me where can I buy such a board? Is there a specific controller
board that cater to my need?

2. I plan to program the 80196 microcontroller to control the robotic arm to do
a few simple movements such as picking up of an object and transporting it
to a pre-definded location. Is there such a similar program written in
assembly langauge that I can refer to? Is there any books that show you how
to write in assembly language to control robotic arm movement?

I would very much appreciate it if someone out there can offer some assistance in helping me to answer the above mentioned questions. Thank you.
