   Hi,

Digging through my junk I found a couple of stepper motors.
I never used them and I am not sure what I had in mind when I got
them, but I would like to play with them now. My problem is that
I am not sure how to wire them up.

	   The markings are:

		   Molon Motor & Coil Corp
		   LMS-3044
		   12VDC Stepper
		   36132-0
		   14-81 [probably a date code]

	   The wires are:
		   -----------------
		   | |--------------Orange
		   | |--------------Red
		   | |--------------Tan
		   |---------------|
		   | |--------------Red
		   | |--------------Black
		   | |--------------Brown
		   -----------------
			  | |
			  | |
			  ----

Can anyone give me some leads? Or just tell me outright?
My guess is that the Red leads are common ground and will
have to tied together. The Orange, Tan, Black, and Brown
leads will be for the +12VDC pulse. But which leads go
   for which direction?

Measure the resistance between ORN-RED, ORN-TAN, and RED_TAN.
You should get one high reading and two low readings. Ditto for
RED-BLK-BRN.
This should help you to identify which lead is the centertap

This is a four phase motor, with two center tapped windings like this:

        -----) -----)
	     ) )
	     ) )
	     ) )
	-----) -----)
	     ) )
	     ) )
	     ) )
	-----) -----)

for a general four phase controller, hook the centertaps up to a
constant current source, and the "end" leads to your switching devices
