Hello all.
I am a summer intern student working in the robotics lab at Vanderbilt
University. My project concerns writing a C library for a Heathkit
Hero 2000 robot. For the last 2 weeks or so, we've been having some
trouble with the arm controller card. When we try to home the robot
from the keypad, we get a system error 0087 (left wrist is off the
cam). The manuals do not explain this error any further, and a
careful rebuilding of the arm did not reveal any mechanical problems.
Today's tinkering proved that the left motor channel on our arm card
has gone bad. My second problem is that when we compile a Turbo C 2.0
file and run it from Hero's DOS (an XT with DOS 2.12) we get a wild
interrupt in the .EXE setup code. While this doesn't seem to be
causing any problems (it's just getting filtered out), we're not sure
if it's entirely safe.
My superiors referred me to comp.robotics as a source of
information and/or spare parts. Have any of you ever worked with
these problems on a Hero 2000? Production stopped quite a while ago I
understand, so tech support is out of the question. If anyone has
spare parts they would be willing to sell, please e-mail me at the
following address. Thanks in advance for any help!!
