   I did it for polaroid sonars.   The main problem is that an exact 
computation is extremely heavy and it takes ages to get the result.
We achieved a reasonable computation time (on a pc!!) of only 2 to 5 minutes
per 360 degrees scan.

   If you want I can give you the references of the papers we based our implementation.
